The 10th edition of the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components is again expected to draw buyers from more than 100 countries and regions as it showcases the newest electronic products from China and Asia.
The spring show to be held at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo from April 12-15 will again display hot products from 12 popular categories: Consumer electronics; Digital entertainment; In-car electronics; Computer & networking; Telecom & accessories; WiFi & VoIP products; GPS products; Health & personal care electronics; Security products; Electronic components; Opto-electronics; and Power supplies. It will feature over 2,400 booths spread out in eight huge exhibition halls.
Seymone Porter, vice president of the New Products Division at Weignan LLC, USA, was overwhelmed with the vast product selection at the show’s fall 2007 edition. “I like the variety of products and the friendliness of the exhibitors,” he said. “I found exactly what I needed and many more things that I didn’t know I needed until I saw them here.”
While the bulk of exhibitors come from mainland China, more and more suppliers from key Asian markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea are participating in the biannual sourcing event. The fair affords buyers the chance to source direct from new China and Asian suppliers.
Big name buyers that graced the October fair include Alcatel, Carrefour, Coles Myer, Hasbro, Hitachi, Li & Fung, RadioShack, LG Electronics, Samsung, Sharp and Siemens.
“I recognized many repeat buyers as I walked around the show,” said Tommy Wong, general manager of Global Sources Exhibitions. “Many buyers in the fair stated that the China Sourcing Fair has become the highlight of their sourcing activities.”
Buyers at the China Sourcing Fair also learn the latest sourcing techniques and product trends at Asia’s biggest and most comprehensive free conference program. Held on the first three days of the show, the conferences give buyers the opportunity to learn best sourcing practices from industry specialists while at the fair. The program is designed for both new and experienced buyers, and feature international experts who offer useful tips on industry-focused topics like product trends, regulatory compliance, logistics and other key trade issues.
Apart from the conference setting, buyers also arrange one-on-one meetings with these industry experts to get personalized advice on their sourcing problems.
A host of free buyer services are provided at the China Sourcing Fair for buyers’ convenience. These include free transport to the fair, onsite sourcing tools, free Internet access, self-service information kiosks, and spacious, ground-level halls with products grouped into pavilions.
Global Sources also provides alternative channels for buyers to source direct from their target suppliers more efficiently. For instance, volume buyers like Carrefour, Future Group, Halfords, RadioShack and Sears held Private Buyer Meetings at the fair, saving them time by meeting with pre-selected exhibitors that match their trading criteria.
Another matching service, the Virtual Buyer Meeting, allows buyers to meet privately with up to 50 pre-selected exhibitors in a virtual conference session, so they can see these suppliers’ latest offerings even if they can’t attend the show. Dollar General and Monster Cable were two such buyers who made use of these virtual meetings at the fair.
“This is our first time at the China Sourcing Fair,” said Linda Lee, sales manager of Viewcon Electronics (Samoa) Co., Ltd. “We have attended CeBIT, CES and Computex. We see a lot of opportunities at this show. We met with Monster Cable on the first day, and we see that as indicative of very good prospects for us at the China Sourcing Fair.”
To provide year-round sourcing opportunities to serious buyers, the China Sourcing Fair will again be held on June 9-11, 2008 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, and on October 12-15, 2008 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The April and June shows are now open for registration. Learn more about the fairs and pre-register at www.chinasourcingfair.com!
